OneKitPlus Budget Guide: step-by-step instructions

Budget is the OneKitPlus app to track income and expenses without complexity. This guide is for new users who want to start quickly and use the app correctly from day one.

1) Sign in to your account

  1. Open OneKitPlus and log in (email/password or Google if enabled).
  2. Go to Apps > Budget.
  3. Check that your preferred site language is selected (IT, EN, ES, FR, DE, PT).

2) Understand the main dashboard

At the top you see three key values:

  • Income: total income for the selected month.
  • Expense: total expenses for the selected month.
  • Balance: income minus expenses.

Use Prev and Next to switch month. The three-dot menu contains quick actions like currency and export.

3) Add your first transaction

  1. In Add Transaction, choose Type: Expense or Income.
  2. Enter the value in Amount.
  3. Select a category in Category.
  4. Pick a date in Date.
  5. (Optional) add notes in Note.
  6. Click Save.

4) Use categories the right way

  • New category: create a personal category.
  • Manage categories: rename or delete categories.
  • Duplicate category names are rejected to keep data clean.

Practical tip: start with a small set (Food, Home, Transport, Salary, Freelance), then expand only when needed.

5) Enable recurring transactions

For subscriptions, installments, salaries, and other repeating items:

  1. Create the transaction.
  2. Enable Recurring.
  3. Optionally set an end date.

This avoids manual re-entry every month.

6) Filter by date (no endless scrolling)

  1. In the Recent section, use the date field.
  2. Select the day you want to inspect.
  3. See only transactions for that date.
  4. Press Clear to reset the filter.

7) Read category reports

The report section shows spending and income by category. If there are many items, use Show more.

  • Long bars = higher impact categories.
  • Short bars = lower impact categories.

8) Set budgets and limits

  1. Open Budgets.
  2. Choose one category or Overall.
  3. Set the monthly limit.
  4. Save.

This helps you keep spending under control consistently.

9) Export your data anytime

From Export, download data as CSV/Excel/PDF (based on enabled options). Useful for backups, analysis, and data portability.

10) Smart mobile usage

  • Add OneKitPlus to your phone Home Screen for fast access.
  • Record transactions immediately after they happen.
  • Use quick categories to speed up repetitive entries.

Best practices

  • Track daily, even for 2 minutes.
  • Review reports at least once per week.
  • Keep categories clear and short.
  • Update your structure when habits change.
