Complete Car Expenses Guide

This guide helps you set up and use Car Expenses correctly from basic setup to advanced reporting.

1) First access

  1. Open Apps > Car Expenses.
  2. Create a vehicle with New vehicle.
  3. Use Vehicle selector if you have multiple cars.

2) Configure settings once

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Choose distance and consumption units.
  3. Confirm currency and formatting.

3) Add non-fuel expense

  1. Select type/category.
  2. Enter amount and real date.
  3. Optional: odometer + note.
  4. Save.

4) Add fuel transaction properly

  1. Select fuel category.
  2. Enter amount and fuel quantity.
  3. Enter odometer.
  4. Enable Full tank only for complete refuel.
  5. Save.

5) Smart consumption logic

  • Real consumption is calculated between two full tanks.
  • Partial refuels remain pending until next full tank.

6) Edit/Delete

In Recent, use Edit or Delete. Totals refresh automatically.

7) Date filter

Use date field near Recent to focus on one day, then Clear.

8) Categories

Create/manage categories; duplicates are blocked.

9) Reports

Use weekly/monthly/yearly views (when enabled) to monitor trends and high-impact categories.

10) Export

Export data as CSV, Excel, and printable PDF report.

11) Budget sync: clear choice on first use

If Budget is also available on your account, Car Expenses no longer enables sync silently for new users. The first time you use the app, it shows a clear in-app choice.

  • Enable sync: new car transactions can also be added to Budget, so you avoid duplicate manual entry.
  • Keep separate: use Car Expenses as a standalone app without sending new transactions to Budget automatically.
  • The message is shown in the active OneKitPlus interface language.

Your choice is saved and can be changed later inside Car Expenses. Accounts that already had linked Budget entries keep their existing alignment for compatibility.

Best practices

  • Log expenses immediately.
  • Always keep odometer updated for fuel entries.
  • Use full tank only when truly full.
  • Review reports weekly.
